Nina was in the 3rd grade. She had blue eyes, blue hair and a beautiful smile. She always dresses in a colourful dress. But she didn't laugh much and felt bad about herself because she had trouble getting her words out sometimes. Her mum told her she had something called “stammer”.

Because of her stammer, school was really difficult for her. Her classmates made fun of the way she spoke, because they didn't understand her. Over time, she became quieter and quieter.

She didn't talk to the other children and had no friends in class. She sat alone at the back of the classroom. She even stayed there during the breaks.

How do you think Nina feels when everybody starts to laugh?

One day, when she recited the poem, she paused often. Some words were hard to understand, and the poem didn’t make sense. The teacher tried to quiet the class. But the kids just got louder, and their laughter grew. That day, the children laughed at her more than ever.

What do you think:

Should children act like that?

Nina screamed, "Please stop!" Even though it was hard to understand, the children could tell what she meant. She was crying, more than anyone had ever seen her before. The laughter stopped, and the room fell silent. Nina was shaking, unable to stop crying. She left the classroom without saying a word.

After all that happened, what would you do?
