She shakes her head. “I think I’ll do it myself.”
Leo looks at her. “Are you sure?” he asks.
“Yes,” Zara says. “I want to finish it alone.”
Leo and the other kids go back to their own paintings. Zara keeps going, but after a few strokes, her hand starts to hurt.
The other kids finish their paintings. They laugh and share ideas, but Zara keeps working alone. Her hand is too tired to finish.
She looks at the other kids' paintings—they are colourful and full of fun details. Zara looks at her own tree. It’s only half-painted. She feels sad. Maybe letting her friends help would have been a better idea.
It’s okay to ask for help when something is hard. Working together makes everything better and more fun.
